Callum Turner and Director Will Gluck Set for Sydney Visit to Launch One Night Only
BAFTA nominee Callum Turner and director Will Gluck are heading to Sydney for a special screening of One Night Only, the upcoming romantic comedy hitting Australian cinemas August 13.
Sydney is set to welcome a touch of Hollywood romance this August, with BAFTA nominee Callum Turner and acclaimed filmmaker Will Gluck confirmed for a whirlwind promotional visit in support of Universal Pictures’ upcoming romantic comedy, One Night Only.
The pair will headline a special red carpet screening at Hoyts Entertainment Quarter on Tuesday, August 11, joining fans, media and invited guests to celebrate the film ahead of its Australian release.
Gluck, best known for modern rom-com favourites Easy A and Friends with Benefits, returns to Australia following the global success of Anyone but You, which was filmed locally. He’ll be joined by Turner, one of Hollywood’s fastest-rising leading men, whose recent credits include Masters of the Air and the Fantastic Beasts franchise.

Described as a fresh, witty and swoony take on modern love, One Night Only is set in a slightly alternate version of reality where, for one night each year, single people are allowed to pursue no-strings-attached encounters — a cultural phenomenon that turns the city into a chaotic playground of fleeting connections. Outside of that night, casual hook-ups are off the table, giving the tradition an almost surreal sense of urgency.
Amid the chaos, recently dumped Owen (Turner) and hopeful romantic Allie (Monica Barbaro) find themselves searching for something more meaningful. As chance encounters, missed connections and unexpected detours keep pulling them apart, their night becomes a race across New York City — one that just might lead them back to each other.

The film’s electrifying cast includes Maya Hawke, Julia Fox, King Princess, Ben Marshall, Ziwe, Ella Loudon, and screen legends Molly Ringwald and LeVar Burton.
Directed and produced by Gluck from a script by Travis Braun, the film marks another entry in the filmmaker’s ongoing revival of the big-screen romantic comedy.
One Night Only opens in Australian cinemas on August 13.
